About the artist

Emily Gass, aka Emily Grizzly, is a ceramic artist from Portland, Oregon.

She has been working in clay for over a decade. In 2012, she completed the “Glaze/Fire” program at the University of Oregon, a one-year apprenticeship focusing on kiln-firing and glaze chemistry.

She has worked many artist jobs over the years, and is a member of Oregon Potters Association.

Emily’s functional pottery has always been inspired by earth, plants, animals, pattern, color and many other elements from the Pacific Northwest.

She makes work that feels like home.

All pieces are thrown, carved and glazed by hand.

Every functional item is safe for dishwasher and microwave. While no ceramic item is unbreakable, Emily’s work is highly durable and can last for years to come.
